Progress

This weekend, I went shopping with my mom to a really great furniture place she recommended. Mind you, I spent 8 hours (an entire work day) a while back hopping from store to store looking for some basic pieces, and I even did this in an area that is known for all their furniture stores. However, it was incredibly unsuccessful (and not to mention exhausting)! So you can imagine how excited I was to have some luck this weekend with my mother. An interesting sofa table caught my eye, but what I really needed was a coffee table. They didn't have the coffee table on the floor so I had to look at the catalog and relunctantly order it without seeing it in person, but I was hopeful it would work out.

However, when I arrived home with these new images of furnture in my mind, I re-evaluated the dimensions of the space and the dimensions of the pieces (as they were pictured), and perhaps had some doubts. Nevertheless, I shall make it work!

The coffee table is untraditional - it is actually two separate tables meant to be placed against each other, but you can also place them slightly off-even for a different look. (Can I just say that I see this as sooo practical depending on what I want to do.) They have shelves underneath for additional storage and a large top upon which I have lots of room for entertaining (practical, again). They do not lend to symmetry very well, meaning that I won't be able to do a centerpiece, but I can do a siderpiece which I am thinking might be even more interesting.

They shall be arriving in the next week or so!
